Williamstown: City
close, Country Quiet
Williamstown is located in
Northern Kentucky.
Williamstown has a small town charm but it is
close to urban hubs; just off of I-75, halfway
between Lexington and Cincinnati.
It is only a
36 minute drive to the Greater
Cincinnati International Airport.
The City of Williamstown was
founded in 1820 and is Grant County’s county seat.
Williamstown’s 2008 population estimate is
3,533; Grant County’s is 25,549.
Although we are a small rural
community, Williamstown has remained progressive.
The City of Williamstown public works
consists of Water, Sewer, Electric, Street, Cable,
Broadband and Wireless Broadband.
Due to growth and unavailable amenities, the
City is currently expanding its utilities to provide
service to Grant County and the surrounding region.
Williamstown Cable offers
reliable high definition digital programming and
broadcasts two public access channels hosting it own
regional talk show, “Raising Grant County.”
Historic Downtown Williamstown
hosts an annual community festival, the "Derby Day
Celebration," to celebrate Kentucky heritage.
This old fashioned festival includes a car
show, contests, talent contests, pageants, music,
rides and live entertainment; join us the first
Saturday in May.
Williamstown has two public
parks, J.B. Miller and Webb Park, equipped for
activities such as, tennis, volleyball, fishing,
baseball, basketball and private parties.
The City’s water reservoir is a
public 330 acre recreational lake, Lake
Williamstown.
In a partnership with Grant and Pendleton
County, future lake expansion efforts are occurring.
The Williamstown Police
Department patrols the City streets and Lake
Williamstown to ensure the public safety.
And the Williamstown Fire Department is well
equipped to response to emergencies.
The City is also home of the
Williamstown Independent School District, a 2009 US
News and World Report Bronze Metal High School.
Also, among other things, Williamstown is
home to the County Courthouse, Public Library, and
the Grant County Fair Grounds.
Williamstown is a friendly community and easy to find; take exit 156, Barnes Road or exit 154 off I-75 and experience our small town charm.
