Paddle Williamstown Races
Got a competitive spirit in you?
Then why not participate in one, or both, of our races?
4-Mile Race
Our 4-Mile “Marina-to-Harbor” race will help start off the morning’s
activities, as competitors will start at the Williamstown Marina, paddle
south for a half mile, make a clockwise buoy turn, and then head for the
finish line at the western portion of the lake, in front of Oak Harbor
Resort.
This race is open to recreational kayaks (14’ or less in length) and
canoes. Paddlers will
compete in a variety of classes, based upon age and gender.
Races will begin at 7:30am near the Williamstown Marina.
A MANDATORY pre-race meeting will be held at the same
location at 7:15am.
200-Meter Race
Scheduled for later in the morning at 10:30am, this race is an all-out
sprint that parallels the dam located near the middle of the lake.
Paddlers will start in front of Ruby’s Boat Dock, and head to the
finish line 200 meters later at the other end of the dam, in front of
the spillway.
Depending on the number of entries in each class, paddlers will either
compete head-to-head, or against the clock.
Like the 4-Mile race, this race has a variety of classes, based
upon age and gender, and is open to recreational kayaks and canoes.
A MANDATORY pre-race meeting will be held
near the start line, in front of Ruby’s Boat Dock at the north end of
the dam, beginning at 10:15am.
