Planning & Zoning
The City of Williamstown's Planning and Zoning Department is a part of the Grant County Planning and Zoning Commission, which is administered through an inter-local agreement as required by the Kentucky Revised Statutes. The City maintains its own Zoning Ordinance.
To apply for zoning and sign permits within the Williamstown city limits requires zoning and sign permit applications to be submitted to the City of Williamstown Zoning Administrator for approval prior to submitting the application to the Grant County Planning and Zoning Office.
To apply for amendments to the Williamstown Zoning Ordinance or to rezone properties with the City of Williamstown, please apply to the Grant County Planning and Zoning Commission first. There will be a public hearing for proposed Zoning Ordinance text amendment requests and/or rezoning requests. Williamstown City Council will receive the final consideration and then approval.
Variances and Conditional Use Permits are considered by the City of Williamstown Board of Adjustments. Appeals, zoning enforcement and zoning ordinance interpretation questions can be directed to the Board of Adjustments.
To file an action before the Williamstown Board of Adjustments, please contact the City/Zoning Administrator Douglas Beckham.
Caution : Changes can be made to these regulations without notice. Please check with the Williamstown Zoning Administrator prior to making financial or other decisions based on this unofficial copy of the zoning ordinance.
