Your computer will come "out of the box", with the settings it needs to connect to our high speed network. If you cannot connect, you may need to check the following settings:
TCP/IP Protocol
- Go to Network Connections
- Right-Click Local Area Connection (LAN) and choose Properties
- Click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and then click properties
- Select both Obtain IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically.
- Go to Internet options on the Control panel.
- Select the "Connections" Tab
- Select "Never dial a connection"
- Select "LAN Settings"
- Make sure NO BOXES are checked on this screen.
- Select "OK" to exit out of the screens. You should now be able to connect.

High-Speed Internet and WIFI Questions
Unless you request a static IP, you have a dynamic 'sticky" IP. This means the IP address assigned to you will continue to be reassigned to you if it's available. A static IP is permanently assigned to you and will never change. Statics are sometimes needed for VPN, web conferencing or other two way communications. A static IP can be purchased for $6 per month.
Every customer receives a certain amount of space on the email server. If you have deleted old emails or send emails, you may have filled your space on the server and can not receive any emails until some space is made available.
YES. You will need a router and we offer modems with built in routers. We are not responsible for the operation of you personal router or devices but will be happy to help you.
First power down your computer, modem and router. Next, power up the modem, wait for it to connect to the network, then, power up the router, wait for it to connect and then power up the computer. If this does not work, perform the steps again but remove the router and connect directly to the modem. If you still cannot connect, call customer support.
Many things can affect wireless connectivity. Plaster walls which have a metal grid in them, large mirrors or aquariums can all block wifi signals. The best solution is a mesh wifi network. Regular WIFI extenders are not recommended.
For those in our county and neighboring counties, who do not have access to high speed internet services through Cable TV or DSL, the City of Williamstown offers our "SkyWire" Service.

Email Questions and Setup
You can view your email from clicking on the link WKYBB.NET email from our Homepage.
However, if you would like to use an email client such as Outlook or Thunderbird or to setup your email on you mobil device, you. will need the following information:
Email should be setup for and IMAP email server and it is best to select MANUAL SETUP.
- Be sure your user name is your FULL email address. ( yourmail@wkybb.net )
- Incoming Server (IMAP) : mail.wkybb.net
- Outgoing Server (SMTP): mail.wkybb.net
- Outgoing Port: 587
Simply go to the Customer Control Panel, log in and select the task you would like to complete.
YES, On the homepage you can click on "email" and view your email from anywhere in the world. If you use an email client such as Outlook on you computer, you may want to set up the account on the client software to "leave a copy of the email on the server." You should also select to delete a copy from the server when deleted from the computer.
